Disney World’s Haunted Mansion
(I stumbled upon a great group of bloggers on Instagram who hatched an interesting plan. Each month, the group picks a topic and everyone writes a blog post with their own take on a Disney subject. The great part is that everyone links to the next blogger’s post at the end of theirs. It’s a great way to spread the word about Disney bloggers. If I’m not park hopping at the moment, blog hopping seems like a fine idea. Welcome to the Disney Friend’s Halloween Blog Hop: Disney World’s Haunted Mansion!) Fall season has finally arrived in my neck of the woods. Now that the weather is cooler, the air…

Disney World Splurges
I stumbled upon a great group of bloggers on Instagram who hatched an interesting plan. Welcome to the Disney Friends Blog Hop: Disney World Splurges! Updated: 2/28/2020 Let’s face it. Just going to Disney World is a “splurge” for most of us. Disney World is not cheap.…

7 Ways to Resort Hop at Disney World
The resorts at Walt Disney World are worth visiting. Anyone can visit ALL of the resorts at Disney World. No reservation or park ticket required. We try to visit a few resorts every trip. I prefer to call it resort snooping, because that is REALLY what we’re doing most of the time. If you haven’t done it yet, what are you waiting for? I understand wanting to maximize your time in the parks. We all want to get the most bang for our buck! However, taking some time out during the heat of the afternoon is often just the ticket to helping everyone make the most of their park days.…

Is Disney World’s Pop Century Resort Worth It?
The “Magical or Tragical” series offers up my group’s opinion on some of the offerings at Disney World. Pros and Cons, Dustless Pixie-style. In the past, my group has always stayed at Disney World’s Deluxe Resorts. We particularly like the “Epcot” or “boardwalk” resorts: Boardwalk Inn, Beach Club and Yacht Club. The price point, for us, was worth the convenience of being able to walk or boat to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Strolling in and out of the much less crowded International Gateway entrance at Epcot made it easier to take full advantage of our Park Hopper tickets. On our last trip to the parks, we decided to test…

Is Sebastian’s Bistro at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Worth It?
The “Magical or Tragical” series offers up my group’s opinion on some of the offerings at Disney World. Pros and Cons, Dustless Pixie-style. 9/6/2022 Update: Since this review was posted, Sebastian’s has switched to a family-style prix fixe menu with some a la carte additions. While it is still one of the best dining values on property, we preferred the original menu and the choices it offered. Most of the food is from that menu but not all of the entrees or desserts. That being said, it is ALL delicious and at a great price point. We’re not discouraging anyone from going there by any means. It’s easy to get…

Is Garden Grill’s Character Breakfast Worth It?
The “Magical or Tragical” series offers up my group’s opinion on some of the offerings at Disney World. Pros and Cons, Dustless Pixie-style. Unlike Epcot’s World Showcase area, Future World doesn’t have as many tasty places to have a sit down meal. There are only two Table Service restaurants in Epcot‘s Future World. (A new space themed restaurant is slated to open next to “Mission Space” which will bring the total to three). With the “Electric Umbrella” closing soon, Quick Service dining, with ample seating, is dwindling down to just “Sunshine Seasons”. The remainder of dining locations are just a handful of snack carts. Recently, we found ourselves planning an…

Beyond the Rides: Animal Kingdom
Our “Beyond the Rides” series offers tips and activities for each park that don’t involve ride attractions. Don’t shy away from planning a trip if you or yours aren’t big riders. I am a notorious nervous rider. While I try to push myself to try one or two “scary” rides each trip to Disney World, I’m still not a thrill seeker. If you have someone in your group that gets anxious about “thrill” rides, there is still PLENTY to do in every one of the parks at Disney World. (Updated 2/21/23) Disney World Imagineers have created amazingly themed and detailed lands throughout all of the parks. I would argue, however, that…

Beyond the Rides: Magic Kingdom
Our “Beyond the Rides” series offers tips and activities for each park that don’t involve ride attractions. Don’t shy away from planning a trip if you or yours aren’t big riders. I am a notorious nervous rider. While I try to push myself to try one or two “scary” rides each trip to Disney World, I’m still not a thrill seeker. If you have someone in your group that gets anxious about “thrill” rides, there is still PLENTY to do in every one of the parks at Disney World. After my first Disney trip as an adult, I thought that I would NEVER go back to Magic Kingdom again. Before…

Is Dinner at ‘Ohana Worth It?
The “Magical or Tragical” series offers up my group’s opinion on some of the offerings at Disney World. Pros and Cons, Dustless Pixie-style. ‘Ohana is arguably one of the most popular restaurants and sought after Advance Dining Reservations at Disney World. Folks talk A LOT about ‘Ohana and the difficulty of getting an ADR there. We have been successful at snagging one for a party of 3 as soon as the 180 day reservation window opens. However, trying to adjust a reservation just a few days after making it demonstrates how quickly it books up. Just because something is popular though, doesn’t mean that it deserves the hype. Is dinner…

When Your Partner Isn’t Your Disney Partner
I travel to Disney World with two partners in crime: my sister and my son. My husband and my sister’s boyfriend stay at home. Neither of them are fans of crowds or heat. Both have been to Disney World before, but just don’t share our love for it. When asked why, my husband will recount a few days spent sweltering at Epcot for a work related demonstration he did in Future World decades ago. My sister’s boyfriend, also not a fan of heat and crowds, will talk about the endless lines he waited in. I would argue that’s because neither of them were on a Dustless Pixie planned trip, but…
