Magic Kingdom

(Updated 5/5/2023)

Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park is:

classic Disney characters and princesses (too many to name!), pirates, adventure, the frontier, the bayou, colonial history, fantasy, Pixar, Mickey bars, popcorn and castles.

This park is the heart of Disney World. The entrance leads guests under the Disney World Railroad and onto Main Street U.S.A. Main Street ends at the center of the park (the hub). From the hub area, Magic Kingdom is divided into 5 areas that center around Cinderella’s castle.  Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square are on the west side. Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland are on the east side.

Magic Kingdom is THE park that people associate with Disney World.  Consequently, it tends to be the favorite of folks with younger kids.

MAIN STREET U.S.A.ADVENTURELAND | FRONTIERLAND

LIBERTY SQUARE | FANTASTYLAND | TOMORROWLAND

Main Street U.S.A.

This pathway is meant to resemble an early 1900’s business district. It leads directly into the center of the park and ends at an open circular area called “the hub.” Cinderella’s Castle is directly across the hub from the end of Main Street. Each of Magic Kingdom’s lands spoke from this center hub in front of the castle.

Adventureland

The name of this land pretty much sums it up. Here you can climb through a Treehouse or fly on a magic carpet. Step aboard a jungle river cruise with complimentary Dad jokes. Sail with some pirates and try to avoid cannonball splashes. Grab a Dole whip on your way to see birds sing words.

Frontierland

This land is also aptly named. Watch a variety show hosted by a bunch of bears in various stages of inebriation. Take a splashy ride through the bayou or a wild ride through the wilderness. Test your aim at a shooting gallery or take a raft to visit Tom Sawyer.

Liberty Square

American history is the predominant theme here.  See all of the US presidents and the Liberty Bell. Hop on a steam boat. Dare to step foot in a Gothic revival house full of ghosts. Grab a lobster roll or sit down to a Thanksgiving feast.

Fantasyland

This is where the majority of classic Disney resides. Located in the center area north of  Cinderella’s Castle and Tomorrowland, you will find classics like Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, and Alice. You can take a break at the Tangled themed toilets or  have a drink at Gaston’s. Get heckled by Wicked Step-Sisters or take a ride under the sea.  There is also the Storybook Circus area where you will find Dumbo and circus themed Disney treats. Dine inside Beast’s castle and ride a mine train with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Oh, yeah, this is where you ride past small singing people from all over the world.

Tomorrowland

Meant to be futuristic 50 years ago, this area leans more retro Jetson. It’s an interesting land, but  a hodgepodge of stuff. Here you can watch Monster stand-up, ride through space, or let your underage child drive a car very badly but with no consequences.

Make sure to grab a map and schedule when you enter the park or check My Disney Experience for that day’s activities.
