Disney Parks Bucket List
Not everyone is a Disney person but everyone has something that they enjoy doing; places that bring them joy and give them something to look forward to. I love going to Disney World with my sister and my son. Making memories at the parks is our thing. Planning a trip to Disney World was always a positive outlet for me. I’m finding it a little harder these days. I miss it because I don’t feel comfortable getting on a plane and going to the parks right now. It will, most likely, be a long time before I do. It’s hard for me to even think about planning a trip when…

Epcot’s Spaceship Earth Is My Disney Castle
For a fuller reading experience, play this in the background. Trust me. When Epcot opened in October of 1982, the park’s icon, Spaceship Earth, had its grand debut. Featured prominently near the front gate of Epcot’s Future World, Spaceship Earth was (and still is) a 15 minute slow dark ride through history. Suitable for the whole family, the attraction celebrated communication as the key component to human survival. We thrived when we began to communicate and share ideas globally. An important lesson then and probably even more important now. We all have a common interest: our planet. When I went to Disney World as a kid, Epcot didn’t exist yet. …

Disney World’s Haunted Mansion
(I stumbled upon a great group of bloggers on Instagram who hatched an interesting plan. Each month, the group picks a topic and everyone writes a blog post with their own take on a Disney subject. The great part is that everyone links to the next blogger’s post at the end of theirs. It’s a great way to spread the word about Disney bloggers. If I’m not park hopping at the moment, blog hopping seems like a fine idea. Welcome to the Disney Friend’s Halloween Blog Hop: Disney World’s Haunted Mansion!) Fall season has finally arrived in my neck of the woods. Now that the weather is cooler, the air…

Since the opening of Toy Story Land and Star War’s Galaxy’s Edge ,…

Visiting Disney World as a Nervous Rider
I have tried many, many times over the years to conquer my fear of thrill rides. When I was a little kid, my poor mother had to stop several carnival rides so that she could rescue me, pale and terrified, from the clutches of some spinny tilty whirly contraption. Wikipedia defines this as, “an extreme over-reaction to normal self-preservation instincts.” How can one over-react in the name of self-preservation? Certainly that is exactly the time for extreme reaction, right? Perhaps I should first define what I mean by “thrill” ride. You know that whooshing feeling that you get when a Ferris Wheel carries you up over the top? Yes, Ferris…
